Work and Study in Australia

International students in Australia may get the benefit while they study in Australia. That is, they are allowed to work in Australia for 20 hours/week, but during holiday they may work as much as they want (unlimited hours). Sounds great right?! Work while you are studying. You can earn money before you graduate.

There is a good news now!. Starting from 26th April 2008, people applying for student visa will receive permission to work with their visa grant. But remember, you may work until your course session begin. The government will charge only $450 for these combined visa. Previously, student must paid a total of $490.

Wages from part time work is varied, depends on the location (in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, or any parts in Australia) as well as the type of work that you got, e.g. waiter, night filler, cashier, etc. Normally the wages start from $7-$25 per hour. It is very good because it could help to pay our own accommodation and food (helping our parents to save money).

As long as you try hard to find the job, we believe that you will be able to get the job as Australia has many opportunities in offering a job.

Gut Luck!

Language schools in Australia

As international students, english must be your second language. I guess you might think that language is a little bit problem for you if you want to study abroad in Australia. Don't worry!

You can solve the problem by taking English course in Australia for at least three months. The length of this course will depend on yourself. You can choose three months, half year, one year, etc. It is a good preparation in preparing yourself to study in Australia. It is not doing something that wasting your time. Definitely not! If you feel that you are confident enough to enter the university or high school in Australia, then you can finish the English course.

By taking this English course, there are many benefits that you can gain. You can learn English while making many friends from other countries. In this case, you are forced to communicate with people using English. Morever, you can see new cultures from many countries. Adapting with new environment, new cultures and new friends are interesting things and challenging too.
If you would like to ask any questions regarding to language schools in Australia, you are free to ask through my email (global.econsultancy@gmail.com).
Overall, it is very enjoyable to study this course as the teachers will teach us in a fun way. I guarantee 100% that you won't be bored! You will miss this time when you are already in university! *-*
Remember, you can't turn back time, so use your time wisely!

What if you can't enter the university directly?

If you can't enter the university, don't panic! You can enter to college first, which is an alternative entry to university. The materials that you will be learning in college are equivalent to the first year university. Students are guaranteed to the second year of university if they pass the requirements.

The benefit of entering the college is you can experience the university life by having access to many university facilities such as the library and student union. For international students, you can improve your language as well as your knowledge in preparing the real university life. Morever, it enhances your chance of success in university.

As what I experience, I was an international student, the teaching methods in the college and in the university are different. In university, students are forced to have more independent study than in college. It is quite true that if you don't study more by yourself at home, you will pass the subject hardly.

Below is some links for college in Australia

I hope you will find the information helpful.

Don't hesitate to email (global.econsultancy@gmail.com) me if you have any questions, I will try my best to reply ASAP.

Australia University

This blog is made for helping international students seeking informations about universities in Australia. It assists the students in choosing the right university in order to get a better future.

There are many universities in Australia. Students can choose based on the course in which they are going to enrol in. I will attach some links for top universities with good reputation in Australia. However, not all of universities will be mentioned in this blog. Students can ask me through my email (global.econsultancy@gmail.com) if you have any questions regarding universities in Australia.

Universities which have good reputation in Sydney are:

2. University of New South Wales (UNSW)

3. University of Technology, Sydney (UTS)

Actually, there are many others universities in Sydney. This could make the students confused with which university they should enrol in. Don't worry! This case happened to me as well when I was going to enter the university. Thus, I would like to give the students some suggestions. At first, students need to know what course they are interested to enrol in. Once they have known, they should compare the subjects description between each university as not every university offers the intended course. After considering which course content they think are the most suitable for them, they can decide which universities to enrol in.

There are many top universities in Melbourne which you can see below.

1. University of Melbourne (Melbourne)

2. Monash University (Monash)

3. RMIT University (RMIT)

4. Deakin University (Deakin)

5. Swinburne University of Technology (Swinburne)

Top Universities in Perth, Western Australia are:

1. University of Western Australia (UWA)

2. Curtin University of Technology (Curtin)

3. Edith Cowan University (ECU)

4. Murdoch University (Murdoch)

5. University of Notre Dame Australia (UNDA)

What if you can't enter the university directly? Don't panic! There is always a solution for any problems. I will post this topic in the next blog...

Hope this blog will assist you in finding the right university for your better future. Please email me if you have any further questions. Good luck!

Thank You.
